Lab Tour

Lars Kaestner, the coordinator of the FP7 CoMMiTMenT project, hosted the 1st Progress Meeting on April 4-5, 2014 at the Centre for Molecular Imaging and Screening at Saarland University, Campus Homburg. Kaestner officially started the event with a welcome of the CoMMiTMenT consortium and an introduction of new team members. It was followed by work progress reports by the individual partners and a lab tour including the demonstration of on-site installed test devices from CoMMITMenT partner Ionscope. The progress meeting also included an exploitation workshop where the industrial partners presented their exploitation plans with the intention to merge individual strategies into a coherent strategy, and to identify common interests of industry and academic partners.

On the second day, Advisory Board member Prof Norbert Graf, an expert in personalised medicine, gave a lecture on ethical issues, data security, infrastructure and patient empowerment. Graf is the coordinator of the EU-funded project "p-medicine" which aims at transforming current medical practice towards personalized and customised treatment. Eurice staff rounded off the gathering with a presentation of its progress in management and dissemination activities. The résumé of the 1st CoMMiTMenT Progress Meeting is absolutely positive: everything is right on track.
