3rd CoMMiTMenT Progress Meeting in Roscoff, France

The CoMMiTMenT consortium

18 months into the CoMMiTMenT project, the Consortium gathered for its biannual progress meeting at Hotel Le Gulf Stream in Roscoff, France, from 15th to 16th April 2015. Work results as presented by the team members showed the remarkable progress made within CoMMiTMenT during the first project period. All achievements were actively discussed by the team and next steps to move forward towards the project goal determined. The Consortium was also very pleased to welcome Prof. Dr Ingolf Bernhardt from Saarland University as invited speaker, who gave an interesting lecture on important aspects of biological membranes and red blood cells, as well as Dr Stéphane Egée from the Station Biologique in Roscoff in his function as CoMMiTMenT Advisory Board member.

Since the meeting was directly followed by the 20th European Red Cell Society Meeting at Roscoff, Consortium members grasped the opportunity to participate in this important conference, where they could network with peers in red blood cell research and also promote the CoMMiTMenT project with presentations by the Project Coordinator, Dr Lars Kaestner (Saarland University), Consortium member Dr Anna Bogdanova (University Zürich) as well as junior researcher Rick Huisjes (Medical Centre Utrecht).

The next progress meeting has already been scheduled: it will take place in the UK in September 2015.
