OptoRobotix Aps (ORX)

OptoRobotix ApS designs and develops world leading optical cell sorters for in-vitro biological experiments, cell purification, cancer research, diagnostics and characterization for industry and research. Our cell sorter can handle a wide range of different biological cells, in particular mammalian cells.

Our instrument is based on sterile, disposable microfluidic systems and by principles the sorting is extremely gentle with no detrimental effects on the sorted cells seen in other sorters. The cells can be sorted on the basis of morphology deduced from microscopy images or by fluorescent labeling. These features enable an analysis and sorting to be carried out simultaneously in a matter of minutes.

OptoRobotix is founded in 2011 as a spin-off from the Danish Technical University (DTU), Department of Photonics Engineering. The instrument is based on world leading optical technology invented by Prof. Jesper Glückstad’s PPO research group at Technical University of Denmark.
